The Melt

The Melt was a place that my husband brought up to me weeks before our trip to San Francisco. Anything that has to do with technology, especially something that involves his phone, he is all about. I was more about the food part of it, and soon began looking over their menu. They take your ordinary Grilled Cheese sandwich and add a variety of different cheeses and breads that make up such flavorful combinations. Order a combo, and with it comes a cup of hot and delicious soup. A classic favorite of mine is of course tomato soup with my grilled cheese, but why not mix it up and try one of their different combinations that they have to offer. We decided to order the Parisian. Continue reading

Bun Mee

Before we embarked on our sweet journey at Citizen Cake, I thought that it was a good idea to eat something savory and fulfilling. We came across Bun Mee, which was right down the street from there. I can say that I am a newbie to these Vietnamese sandwiches, and I have been wanting to try one for awhile now. The inside of the little eatery is very colorful, and I absolutely adore the way that their menu was written out on chalkboards. There is just something about chalkboards in coffee shops, or restaurants that I have always had a bit of an obsession with. If it was up to me, we would have chalkboard paint on various walls in our house. Okay, so I might have gotten a little bit off track. Back to our grilled pork filled sandwiches at Bun Mee in San Francisco.

Elizabeth Falkner’s Citizen Cake

I make “lists” of places that we must eat or get a drink at according to the city that they are in. Now being that it is San Francisco, there are so many places on that list, and it may take us many visits to accomplish all of them. Returning to San Francisco is most definitely in our future plans, and of course you have to start somewhere right? Elizabeth Falkner’s Citizen Cake is one that we decided to check off our list this time around. Now checking it off doesn’t mean we won’t be back. I have been craving the Chocolate Salted Caramel Tart, ever since we left. I also loved the interior of the building. The exposed brick and lighting really make it such an inviting atmosphere.

La Boulange Cafe and Bakery

I am in love with all things French. My husband and I have always been so intrigued by the French Culture, and most of all the food. La Boulange Cafe Bakery was a very close walk to our hotel that we stayed at. The first couple of times that we walked by, we just stared in longingly at the beautiful display of baked goods and treats. It wasn’t until our last day in San Francisco, that we actually went in and ordered breakfast. I would have felt spoiled if we had eaten there every morning, even though I was secretly wishing that we did. We ordered their Croque Madame to share, and Giovanni had their Organic Oats with Fruit.

3rd Annual Foodbuzz Blogger Festival

I was more than thrilled to be a part of the 3rd Annual Foodbuzz Blogger Festival this year. It was held in San Francisco, CA, which is by far one of my most favorite cities in the world. We traveled as a little family up there, and I was so happy to show Giovanni such a wonderful city for the first time. The Taste Pavilion and Gala Dinner was filled with absolutely delicious food, as well as lovely people. It was so great getting a chance to meet new people, and I can’t wait to keep in touch with them. Foodbuzz put on an incredible event, which I am already looking forward to attending again next year. Sitting back at home, I am left day dreaming of the amazing food, people, events and surroundings from our trip to San Francisco.
