Suzie’s Farm

We spent part of our Saturday afternoon walking Suzie’s farm, and you couldn’t have asked for better weather. Being two days before Halloween, and almost November, we still didn’t have one pumpkin in the house. Saturday marked their last day for Pumpkin u- pick, and what’s better than going to a local farm and picking your own pumpkins from the ground. I loved having Giovanni on my hip, pointing at every little thing while we strolled up and down the rows of pumpkins. These are the little moments that I absolutely love to share with my little family.

Aside from pumpkins they are a USDA Certified farm, that grows over 100 different crops every year. They also supply produce to some of the  well- known restaurants and food trucks that are local “farm to table” supporters. You can find them at the local farmers markets as well, with  a lovely stall stocked with amazing produce. We paid them a little visit at  Little Italy’s Mercato. Check out their website that offers recipes, as well as updates on all of the upcoming events. We will definitely be paying close attention to their event (see video below), and hopefully we can make it to most of them. I can’t explain the feeling of being in the middle of such beautiful surroundings, and seeing where your food comes from. Suzie’s Farm is so close to us, and I really want it to become an “everyday” part of our lives. You are eating fresh, and Organic produce, meanwhile supporting local farms and farmers, it can’t get better than that. I want to thank everyone there, they were so kind and helpful about all of the Pumpkin varieties, as well as letting us know about some of their future events.

About Kristin

We are Antonio and Kristin. We are a couple in our 20's who are fueled by our passion for all things related to food, art, travel, and our rich heritages. We started this blog as an outlet to showcase our lives and adventures as we know them on both sides of the San Diego border. Kristin grew up in Orange County, and Antonio grew up in between San Diego and Tijuana. After we met in 2006, we knew that it was meant to be. Her education background is in Interior design, while his in Graphic design. We got married in the summer of 2010, and welcomed our first son Giovanni into this world later on that year. Follow us as we explore and discover both of our cultures through the cuisine, people, and places surrounding them.
